We are very excited about the book
release on June
27th because this book is the first of its kind. The
contribution and support of over 50 directors,
supervisors, animators and story people were
instrumental to making this book stand out amongst
the rest on the shelves. We feel it is crucial to
have books out there written by working animators
who have been working in animation for years..
The knowledge of
working professionals
from a wide range of backgrounds, such as
stop-motion, traditional animation, visual effects,
and computer-generated animation make this book's
content invaluable. This is the first book to bridge
the gap between
what traditional artists and animators have
developed over many years and how to apply those
time-tested techniques to CG animation. We are also
lucky enough to have two great
representatives from both the traditional and CG
worlds write forwards for our book and we send big
thanks to Floyd
Norman, a traditional 2D artist for Walt Disney
Studios and Hanna-Barbera Productions; and
Richard
Taylor a director, designer and CG pioneer.
